Solaqua Energy Systems: Soy-Based Spray Foam

What is Soy Foam Insulation?

Soy foam is a Polyurethane mixture that is used for residential and commercial insulations.  It is made with a mixture of Isocyanate the catalyst (A) and a Soyol based resin (B) under high pressure and heat.

This forms cells or bubbles.  The cells are then hardened into place as the cooling process begins.  The cells then adhere to one and form a solid sheet of insulation.

Further, soy foam insulation is categorized in two ways based on it's density and cell structure.  They are described as closed and open cell.

Soy foam insulation is a great product containing no VOC's or ozone depleting chemicals.  The materials are very high quality and can be expected to last a life time.  Also, being that the foam is set in place it will not cause any unwanted dust, etc. and is hypoallergenic.  It is not a food source for varmints either.  Some people find that the foam's ability to get into every crack and crevice virtually eliminates unwanted critters. Many people are beginning to understand the value of soy foam.  From the first bill that rolls in, customers appreciate the foam for the great building material that it is.  Will you?
