Your Renewable Energy Investment:

At Solaqua we understand that financial viability is what makes or breaks a building improvement or investment, that's why we will work with you to assure that you make the right decision in choosing a system that will deliver both energy and economic returns for your home or business. Renewable energy systems have been historically cost prohibitive, but with new state and federal legislation, these systems are starting to make serious economic sense. We at Solaqua understand the importance of your hard earned dollar, that's why we have constructed this portion of the site to explain the financial scenario of a renewable energy system.

The Investment:

It is first important to realize that your renewable energy system is an investment, and very good investment at that. But investments must mature. With a renewable energy system you are essentially purchasing all of your power for the life of the system up front. Meaning that for the next twenty plus years you will be immune to the volatility of domestic energy markets, but you purchase your energy for that time horizon today, thus locking in your costs and allowing for extremely accurate budgeting and financial planning.

Cost-Recovery:

Today renewable energy systems are recovering their initial financial investment in less than ten years. Initial investment costs have come down from historical (1970's) levels but the prices are quite volatile due to supply shortages in raw materials (namely silicon) and unprecedented demand increases from the EU and states such as California and New York. With these increases in demand, there is substantial new investment, upwards of $30 billion (US) meaning that emerging renewable technologies should follow some of the trends so notably seen in the microprocessor industry, however cost patterns are not certain to follow the same trends as the computing industry's took due to the reliance on the same raw materials, of which there is a finite supply.

However, as energy prices continually climb, and as our dependence on foreign energy grows with that, it is imperative to be forward thinking in where our money should be invested. Every dollar spent towards purchasing non-renewable energy is essentially an investment in non-renewable energy, an investment that will never be recovered by the consumer.
