October 18 2007 - USDA Rural Development Program to present ceremonial check for $49,608 to Solaqua

Chatham, NY – Patrick Brennan, State Director for USDA Rural Development in New York, will be in Chatham on Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. to present Solaqua Power & Art with a ceremonial check for $49,608. Mike Russo, District Director for U.S. Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of the US. House of Representatives Agriculture Committee, will also be on hand for the check presentation. September 21, 2007 - Gillibrand Announces $49,608 for Solar Project in Chatham

Hudson, NY - Today, local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand announced that Solaqua Power & Art, a renewable energy, business incubator located in Chatham, had been awarded $49,608 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program. The funds will be used to purchase and install a photovoltaic renewable energy system. The 25 kilowatt system will be installed as part of a redevelopment project at the vacant Columbia Box Board Mill in Chatham. (more)...

Plans to revitalize vacant mill site take shape at future site of SOLAQUA Power & Art

Chatham, New York – March 19, 2007 – After standing vacant for over a decade, the former Columbia Boxboard mill on Route 295 in Chatham will get a new life as plans progress to transform the site. With two years of research and meetings with members of the community completed, SOLAQUA has retained the services of Troy Architectural Program, Inc. Solaqua Power & Art Joins Forces with Artspace:

(January 13, 2006, Chatham, NY) Artspace has officially agreed to direct the development of Solaqua Power & Art. The board of Artspace, the nation’s leading nonprofit real estate developer for the arts, met on January 12, 2006 and voted unanimously to accept Solaqua’s invitation. Artspace, located in Minneapolis, has a strong 25-year track record of locating funding sources and overseeing the adaptive reuse of old unused buildings across the country into affordable living and work spaces for artists. Public Forum: Meet Artspace and Solaqua Power & Art Industrial Arts Mill to Operate on Sunlight and Water:

(Chatham, NY) SOLAQUA Power & Art proposes to create an art and technology center located at the former Columbia Box Board Mill on Route 295 in the Town of Chatham, New York. The paper mill began operations in the nineteenth century and was a major employer in Columbia County, until ceasing operations in 1994.
